Being creatures of habit, Meg (the sensible one) and myself do the weekly shop at the same time, on the same day, going to the same shops and driving the same route almost every time. The photographs in this post are all of a small section of the route. It is a section that has always fascinated me – photography-wise I’ve always preferred old and dilapidated to new and shiny and everything here has looked this way for at least five years and probably a whole lot longer.
Because it is a part of town that doesn’t really lead anywhere worth a walk I’ve never really internalized it, just stared out of the car window week in week out for months now always knowing that it would make for some interesting photographs but never really making the connection that I could just wander down and shoot some. Well, a couple of weeks back the light finally came on and with zero pre-planning I grabbed the point and shoot and headed off out of the door.
