Victoria Police responded to reports of a shooting at a house in Meadow Heights, in Melbourne’s north, about 12.45am on 25 May 2008 .
Two people were inside the house at the time but escaped unharmed.
In a separate but related incident, a 27-year-old man was allegedly kidnapped and held against his will at a Melbourne apartment just after midnight on 3 June 2008.
NSW Police allege he was tied up, blindfolded and assaulted by the offenders, who demanded his family surrender a BMW convertible and sum of cash in exchange for his release.
In a similar incident on 5 June 2008, a 42-year-old man was allegedly held against his will and assaulted at his home in Adelaide, South Australia.
The armed offenders made demands for cash and other property.
Hamzy, who was moved to Goulburn Jail’s Supermax after the mobile phone incident, was yesterday taken under tight security to Goulburn Police Station where he was charged with firing at a dwelling house with disregard for safety, take/obtain person with intent to obtain advantage, and take/detain person in company with intent to obtain advantage.

Warden Nick Ludwick said the new state prison will be fully operational by 2014. All inmates housed in the maximum security unit will be moved to the new facility.
The prison was originally established in 1839. Prisoners helped build some of the original walls by carrying stone from Illinois across the frozen Mississippi River.
